Special Intensive Revision 2026

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a process undertaken to eliminate errors from the electoral rolls and prepare an accurate and error-free voter list. It ensures that every eligible citizen is correctly enrolled in the electoral roll.   
  • Verification of all existing voters is carried out.
  • Booth Level Officers (BLOs) visit households to verify voter details.
  • Electoral rolls prepared during 2002–2004 are considered as the reference records.
  • Eligible voters will be enrolled as per the qualifying date: 01 October 2026.
  • New voters can register by submitting Form 6 along with the prescribed declaration.
  • The process helps ensure transparent and fair elections.

Voter Registration

Voter Registration

As per Rule 14 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950four qualifying dates have been fixed:
1st January, 1st April, 1st July, and 1st October.
Accordingly, an annual revision program is organized every year with 1st January as the qualifying date.
Additionally, applications are accepted on the other three qualifying dates (1st April, 1st July, and 1st October).
